I’ve been enjoying the new versions for the events, but for this one I have to say I like the old version much better, it’s one of my favourite old entries too. The new just has too many details, and the mom makes a huge deal out of everything, while in the old, it very much read like one of these experiences that were just “puzzling” in your childhood, and whose deep strangeness only begins to truly stand out in retrospective. It also read like a somewhat foggy memory, rather than something sharp like here, which makes the first version more believable as well. The old version also very much read like an aerly 90s experience, with the fecal (?) stains “shaping a baby” being definitively the sort of micro urban local legend things one would hear back then (I grew up in the 90s). Tati never telling anyone made more sense in the past too, where it was simply clear they got into a place they weren’t suppossed to be in, and now with the showering and cleaning puts a layer of something that was made a huge deal of back then. I still enjoyed it, especially evocative details like the grandpa under the Sun rays, which definitively calls back to what we see in Sister Zero. In any case, I’m glad you’re back to updating, and I’m looking forward to more updates! I hope you don’t mind this critique, I mean it to be constructive, this is my favourite blog by far.
